Residential Zones- Perfect for garages, storage and more
To build in a residential zone, you can legally build an enclosed single story shed up to 30sqm without needing consent as long as:
No plumbing work without acquiring consent first
The shed height must not exceed 3.5m and the floor height above ground must not exceed 1 meter.
The distance from the boundary must be equal to or greater than the building’s height
Rural Zones: Perfect for equipment, machine storage and farming.
You can legally build an up to 110sqm single story pole shed in rural zones and a 30sqm steel framed customizable shed under certain conditions.

The shed must not exceed 4 meters from the floor level and the floor height above ground must not exceed 1 meter.
The clear span must not exceed 6 meters
In a wind zone no greater than high
The distance from the boundary must be equal to or greater than the building’s height
